Felling of the coupe has begun as can be seen, across Loch Garve, from the A835
Forest and Land Scotland have advised as follows in respect of the 3 new passing places being created on Strathgarve Mains.
Verbatim as recieved - clarity sought!
"I can confirm that the permission for a road opening has been issued by Highland Council.
The permit is valid from 20/05/26-26/26/026, therefore work will start as soon as possible."
The passing places are being created on the single track road becuase there will be logging lorries up and down the road for several months.
A maximum of 8 loads per day, upto 16 journeys along Strathgarve Mains is permitted 24/7 as previously mentioned at Community Council meetings.
Signage directing Wyvis Natural Playpark visitors around the A835 to Little Garve rather than through the village has finally been ordered by The Highland Council.
GDCC Chairman, Bob Moir, has agreed to get these installed locally when they are delivered. One on the fencing at Garve Public Hall and the other on a pole at A835 / Little Garve juction.
We will update as we have more news.
